So after a brief delay while our Washington State Liquor Control Board reviewer stared at the wrong folder for three weeks before finally just hitting send on our approval paperwork…

[Pro tip for all you government bureaucrats out there: If you do accidentally get the completely wrong file on someone despite their repeatedly pointing out that you’re quoting the wrong information to them, don’t, when you finally realize it, joke with them about it as if that was really funny and probably happens all the time. Also, “Rogue,” whoever you are, you are NEVER getting your liquor license. Seriously. Just give up now.]

The Raygun Lounge is now ALL AGES!

Say it with me now…

That’s right, you knuckleheads! You can draft this Saturday!

And this means that the shop will be open in our new 501 E Pine Raygun Lounge digs NEXT TUESDAY, Aug 5th from 11am to 11pm. Come in and see what the first week of a new business looks like! Because we will be rebuilding. From scratch. In public. That’s some cutting edge entrepreneurial performance art right there. Don’t miss it!

And for those of you that have expressed an interest in actually helping out with the process, moving day is Monday. If you’d like to move some boxes with us as part of our DIY parade send me an email for details and I’ll try to get back to you by Sunday.

I’m excited. The team’s excited. We’re ready. And we hope you are too. Because the future starts Tuesday and we’re leading it. Come with us.

The lounge is just shy of its two year anniversary (the shop just turned five!) and, as promised, we continue to listen, learn and adjust as we go. And now, based on your feedback, input from the Washington State Liquor Board and feedback from the King County Department of Planning and Development, we’re unveiling our three biggest changes to date:

1) By the end of the month the Raygun Lounge will be an all-ages space(!) with significantly expanded operating hours. Yes, we will still be serving a range of beer, cider and wine. Yes, we will be crafting an expanded menu of lite bites and snacks to serve our new daytime crowd. And yes, we will continue to host a growing range of weekly, monthly and special events.

That’s right. The lounge will be

2) At the same time we’re moving our retail shop – Gamma Ray Games – into the Raygun Lounge space. Starting Tuesday, July 15th we’re bringing back the synchronicity of the original shop so you will no longer have to walk up and down the street and split your tab in order to get your favorite gaming supplies while you’re playing, drinking and eating with your friends. By combining sites there will be a dedicated management team on site, in one location, to ensure better & easier access for improved service and faster response times.

3) And, maybe most importantly of all, WE’RE RENOVATING THE BATHROOM! Twice!! First on a preliminary level in July, and then a complete overhaul in October.

Altogether it’s going to be the biggest, most exciting expansion we’ve ever taken on. And I am thrilled about it.
